Kelly Donovan has a passion for public relations, writing, editing, news and working with people that prompted her to launch Donovan Communications.
Donovan interned as a writer for newspapers like the Florida Times-Union while attending the University of North Florida, where she received her B.A. in communications with an emphasis on print journalism.
After graduating, Kelly worked for three years as a staff writer for two daily newspapers in Southern California, covering politics, government, environmental issues and a variety of other topics. Her work as a reporter received numerous awards and honors from the California Newspaper Publishers Association and the Society of Professional Journalists Inland Pro Chapter.
Kelly went on to work as a consultant and manager at a marketing and public relations firm, where she coordinated projects and campaigns for clients in the financial, health care, service, hospitality, non-profit and retail sectors.
Kelly serves on the boards of the Inland Empire chapters of the Public Relations Society of America, the National Association of Women Business Owners and the American Marketing Association. Additionally, she serves as Co-President of Soroptimist International of Redlands. She is also a member of the Redlands Chamber of Commerce and volunteered as a Chamber Ambassador for nearly three years and served as 2007 Ambassador Committee Chair.
Kelly has extensive international experience, having lived in Switzerland, Greece, the Philippines and the Middle East. She also spent a summer working for the U.S. government in Botswana, Africa, and participated in a study-abroad journalism project in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
